We support people across Norfolk & Suffolk to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
The people we help face significant challenges in their lives, many of whom describe having experienced trauma. Some people have developed coping strategies, such as self-harm or substance use, to help them manage. The challenges people experience impact significantly on their life opportunities, their mental health and their physical wellbeing.
People often tell us that they have found it difficult to get access to the type of support that is right for them and that as a result they have lost hope. We work alongside the people we support, their families, friends and carers, statutory health and social services, housing providers and community organisations. This ensures that problems and barriers can be resolved effectively and that the people we support are fully informed and at the centre of decision making about their lives.
At Julian Support we:
- Ensure that the services we provide are person centred, responsive, active, and help people to improve their quality of life by building trust, sharing power, and developing hope.
- Encourage people to recognise and develop their strengths and to eliminate barriers that impact on their mental and physical wellbeing.
- Stand in solidarity with people who are experiencing discrimination and support them to challenge discrimination where it occurs.
- Support people to access, set up and maintain a home and to stay safe, healthy and connected within their community.
- Enable people to navigate systems and access services and resources that can help to improve their opportunities, including technology.
- Assist people to access activities to support their wellbeing, e.g. community groups, college courses, employment, volunteering.
