Who are Liaison & Diversion?
Liaison & Diversion (L&D) is delivered as a partnership across Norfolk and Suffolk between Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT), Project Nova, and Julian Support.
We help people living in Norfolk or Suffolk, who have been in custody and are having problems with their housing, money, social connections, or work.
We work with people at their own pace to help them get back on track, giving them the time and space to talk about what's going on. We support them to build on the skills they already have, to work out a plan to deal with whatever is worrying them.
What we do
Below are a few examples of some things we can do that people have found useful:
- advice and support to speak to housing providers, local councils and, if neccessary, seek specialist advice, e.g. Shelter or domestic abuse services
- information and support to visit specialist financial advice services, e.g. Citizens Advice Bureaux (CAB)
- assistance and support to register with a GP or information on how to access specialist advice services, e.g. mental health / substance use services
- support in court and liaising with solictiors / probation
- discuss oppotunities for work / education / volunteering and where to find them
- connect with local community resources, e.g. food banks / social groups
Referrals Referrals to L&D can only be accepted from NSFT staff at the Police Investigation Centre (PIC).
Please note that, unfortunately, we are unable to respond to self-referrals or referrals from other agencies.

“You were the first people I spoke to about my situation, you gave me the tools to deal with what was going on. Everything you helped with has worked and got me in a better place, so I couldn't have
asked for anything better”
